A Gray Journey

The journey has begun. Traveling lonely roads and vast highways. City streets and parking lots. The destination is out of reach. At least for today.

Vast terrain of beige and celery green. I wonder…Was there a study to determine the colors that are the most calming or promote healing? Each floor is like another, only the names change to protect the innocent.

The doctors and nurses fill our days and nights. They are not visible at home, but their kind words and finite directions orchestrate our lives from afar. So many questions;  some answered, some unkown. When we arrive at our destination, what will this journey have been like?

As a teacher of sixth graders, I have found a special place in my classroom every day, my home-away-from-home. My first home I share with my husband, our dog Quincy, two cats, and my tortoise friend, Misha. I also have been blessed with a horse named Belle. We have three adult children and four grandchildren, the joy of our lives. Life is good. I am an equestrian and also enjoy writing, reading, and gardening.
